Steve Ellis Memorial Stand
Applications are closed for a place on the Steve Ellis Memorial Stand at Sheffield Ceramics Festival 2025. N.B. Applicants should be students or ceramic artists who are new to exhibiting.
Many of you will remember Steve Ellis, an incredibly talented artist, a fantastic thrower and a patient and inspirational teacher and mentor with a vast knowledge of clays, glazes and firing techniques. Over the years Steve exhibited and worked at a huge range of shows where he would always be willing to support other artists by sharing his knowledge and buying their work. During his time as a teacher of ceramics he worked with people of all ages and abilities. He was a true believer in introducing new converts to the magic of clay and he was an active supporter of people new to exhibiting, always keen to foster the new generation of ceramic artists.
The stand was inaugurated at the Sheffield Ceramics Festival last year and was a great success, giving 4 newcomers the chance to show at a major ceramics festival.
The stand is for 4 ceramic artists or students of ceramics who are new to exhibiting and selling their work and have not previously exhibited at a selected show. Each of the 4 would get half of a 6 x 3 table. The cost to each exhibitor would be £30.
